Ride of Silence

Ride in Silence meetup 211 E Olive St, Springfield, MO, United States

The Ride of Silence is a 12-mile Ride that passes by the locations where bicyclists have been fatally injured. At 6:55 a memorial will be read and the names of bicyclists killed in Springfield will be read. The ride begins at 7:00 and ends about 8:30 with a pace of about 10 mph. Include lights and reflective gear because the sun will set just before the end of the ride.

Bike to Work Day

May is National Bike Month, a celebration of biking as transportation, as recreation, as essential to our well-being and everyday lives. May is also when the National Bike Challenge kicks off, and the challenge continues through September. In 2024, Bike to Work Week will be celebrated May 13-19, with Bike to Work Day on Friday, May 17, 2024.

The bicycle ride is 8 miles long and the average speed will be about 8pmh. The slow-roll will meander through the Grant Beach, Commercial Street, and Woodland Heights neighborhoods!
