Ride of Silence

This 12-mile ride is in memory of those killed or seriously injured while riding their bicycle. The meeting point is at the intersection of Boonville & Olive Streets:  211 E. Olive Street, Springfield MO 65806.  Arrive at 6:45. Memorial reading is at 6:50. Ride starts promptly at 7:00 and ends just after sundown at 8:10 to 8:20. All participants must provide their bicycle, helmet, and lights, and are encouraged to wear reflective clothing. The route is a 12-mile route on city streets with moderate to low volume and speed with stops at locations where bicycle fatalities have occurred. The route can be viewed here:
