Public Meeting – Sunshine Street (Missouri Route 413) Bridge Replacement Project

The public meeting to discuss the Sunshine Street (Missouri Route 413) Bridge Replacement Project over MNA Railroad in Springfield, originally scheduled for Thursday, February 20, has been postponed due to this week’s winter weather. The meeting will be rescheduled. When details are determined, a news release and message boards will advertise the new public meeting date and time.

The Sunshine Street (Missouri Route 413) Bridge Replacement Project over MNA Railroad public meeting will discuss the traffic impacts during construction and project information.

Project highlights:

• Replace Missouri Route 413 (Sunshine Street) bridge over MNA Railroad in Springfield
• Add/improve pedestrian facilities on both sides of the roadway from Scenic Avenue to Marion Avenue

Traffic impacts during construction:

• Route 413 (Sunshine Street) CLOSED from east of Scenic Avenue to west of Marion Avenue for up to 4 months during construction
• Detour: James River Freeway, Kansas Expressway, Chestnut Expressway, and U.S. Route 160
• Drivers are urged to use alternate routes during construction to avoid the work zone
• Electronic message boards and news releases will notify the public of traffic impacts

Construction is scheduled to begin in March 2025.

The estimated project cost is $5.9 million.
