Safe Streets Pop-Up Event

The Ozarks Transportation Organization (OTO) invites the community to join a pop-up event on Monday, October 7th, from 1 PM to 4 PM, as part of its Safe Streets for All initiative, Destination Safe Streets. The event will take place on W Dale St between N Campbell Ave and N Boonville Ave in the Woodland Heights Neighborhood, near 2100 N Boonville Ave, Springfield, MO 65803.

The event will temporarily transform a section of the roadway to demonstrate how simple, low-cost changes can improve safety and accessibility for all users—pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers. Community members will have the chance to walk through the demonstration area, see these changes in action, and provide feedback on future street safety improvements.

In addition to interactive demonstrations, the popular food truck “I Love Tacos” will be on-site, offering delicious food throughout the event. OTO encourages residents to come out, engage with the Safe Streets for All project team, and enjoy the food and activities.

This event is part of the larger Safe Streets for All plan, Destination Safe Streets, which is focused on improving traffic safety and accessibility through thoughtful design and community participation. The Ozarks Transportation Organization remains dedicated to engaging with residents to shape safer streets for everyone.
