Bike Routes

Springfield is a bronze level Bicycle Friendly Community

As part of the City of Springfield’s plan to create a bike and pedestrian-friendly community, specific streets and routes are designated as part of an on-street bicycle route network being developed by Springfield Public Works’ Traffic Division. This network includes a variety of signage, striping and separated bike lanes which are identified on the link below.

The greenway trails interconnct the on-street routes as part of long-term visioning for how Springfield and Greene County residents want to see the community develop into the future. As public support increases, the network continues to grow, with new facilities added recently like The Link, an 7-mile bike/pedestrian corridor connecting Doling Park and Twin Oaks Park, with seven bright yellow Saris brand bike aide stations along the route. Aide stations include a bike air pump, work stand, a rack to lock to and a tethered tool set.
